Tokyo Mew Mew follows the story of Ichigo Momomiya, a regular middle school student who suddenly gains the powers of a cat after being injected with DNA from the endangered Iriomote Wildcat. Along with four other girls, she becomes a member of the Mew Mew team, tasked with protecting the Earth from an alien race called the Chimera Animas.
