The McCarthys follows a Boston family, the McCarthys, who are loud, loving, and quirky. The show centers around Ronny, the openly gay son who wants to move away from his sports-crazed family. However, he ends up being asked by his father to be the assistant basketball coach at his high school. Ronny's twin brother Sean is the head coach, their sister Jackie is a tomboy and former basketball star, and their overly competitive older brother Gerard is also part of the mix. Their mother Marjorie is a strong-willed woman who does her best to keep everyone together while dealing with her husband Arthur's controlling ways. The McCarthys is a hilarious sitcom with plenty of family dynamics, sibling rivalry, and heartwarming moments.
