Cid Kagenou is a young boy who aspires to become a shadowbroker, operating in the shadows. After encountering magic, he dies and reincarnates as the son of a noble. Determined to achieve his dreams, he rescues a girl and fabricates a story of being the leader of an ancient organization that fights the Cult of Diabolos. The girl joins him, and together, they establish the Shadow Garden. However, Cid soon discovers that his seemingly fictional story has a basis in reality.
