Feluda and Topshe are tasked with solving the case of Selvankar's accidental death in Gangtok. They discover a connection to a prized Yamantaka idol and encounter various characters involved in the investigation, including a German photographer, a bumpkin who sold Selvankar the idol, and a mysterious man claiming to be Selvankar's son. As they delve deeper, they uncover links to a drug racket and face threats to their own lives. With the help of policewoman Rinchen Gonpo, Feluda races against time to catch Selvankar's murderer.
