Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons is set in a dystopian world where humans coexist with dragons. In this world, Princess Angelise Ikaruga Misurugi is deemed a traitor and sent to a prison island after it is revealed that she possesses magical powers. The story follows Angelise as she learns to survive in this harsh environment and eventually fights to reclaim her kingdom from the dragons.
