Set during the Jacobite Rebellion in Scotland, the film follows two brothers, Jamie and Henry, who have a strained relationship. Jamie is sentenced to death for his involvement in the rebellion, but miraculously survives. He becomes a mercenary and is later revealed to be the master of Ballantrae. The film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the desire for power.
The Master of Ballantrae is a 1984 TV movie based on the 1889 novel by Robert Louis Stevenson.[2] It was a co production between the US and England for the Hallmark Hall of Fame
