In 17th-century Japan, a poverty-stricken ronin seeks revenge against a corrupt shogunate by requesting an honorable death through seppuku (harakiri) in front of a feudal lord. As he narrates the tragic events leading up to his request, the true motivations and injustices of the shogunate are revealed.
Black Sunday tells the story of a witch who is burned at the stake and returns from the grave to seek vengeance on her descendants. Alongside her is a vampire and an reanimated corpse, all of whom are wreaking havoc in an old inn. The film explores themes of seduction, resurrection, and the supernatural.
