A group of four astronauts gain superpowers after being exposed to cosmic radiation during a mission in space. Each member of the group develops unique abilities: Reed Richards becomes Mr. Fantastic and gains the ability to stretch his body, Susan Storm becomes the Invisible Woman and can turn invisible and create force fields, Johnny Storm becomes the Human Torch and can fly and create and control fire, and Ben Grimm becomes the Thing and gains superhuman strength and durability. Together, they form the Fantastic Four and must use their powers to stop the villainous Doctor Doom from wreaking havoc on the world.
