In The Exterminating Angel, a group of upper-class guests attend a dinner party at a mansion but find themselves unable to leave. As their confinement continues, the guests descend into madness and absurdity, revealing the dark and humorous nature of social conventions and human behavior.

Alice misbehaves in school and is forced to sit in the corner. She falls asleep and dreams, but schoolwork intrudes even into her dreams. Alice dreams of dancing dogs and donkeys until her fun is interrupted by three walking schoolbooks.

Trouble begins when a hated cad of a sponsor is found murdered during the climax of a live radio show. A radio engineer then tries to solve the murder.
