In 1950, Helen marries the eccentric preacher Roy Laferty, who stabs and kills her. Roy is picked up by serial killers Carl and Sandy, who murder him. In 1957, Charlotte dies of cancer and Willard commits suicide. Arvin goes to live with his grandmother and meets Lenora. In 1965, Arvin kills Reverend Preston for raping Lenora and later kills Carl and Sandy when they try to harm him. He confronts Sheriff Lee Bodecker and leaves evidence of the murders with his corpse.
