Alex Pruitt, an 8-year-old boy living in Chicago, must fend off international spies who seek a top-secret computer chip in his toy car. Four internationally wanted criminals have stolen a valuable missile cloaking computer chip for a North Korean terrorist group. They put it inside a toy remote control car to sneak it past security. Alex, a precocious and mischievous child, discovers the chip and decides to take matters into his own hands by capturing the criminals with a series of clever and hilarious booby traps. With the help of his talking parrot and the local authorities, Alex outwits the criminals and saves the day.
When missile technology is used to enhance toy action figures, the toys soon begin to take their battle programming too seriously. Teenager Alan Abernathy unwittingly gets involved when he signs off for a shipment of the toys at his family's toy store. As he investigates, he discovers that the toys are sentient beings and that the Commando Elite, a group of action figure soldiers, are out to kill him and the peaceful Gorgonites. With the help of his new toy friends, Alan must find a way to stop the Commando Elite and save himself and the Gorgonites.
Toys is a story about an eccentric toymaker who passes away, leaving his toy factory to his militaristic brother. The new owner wants to turn the factory into a weapons manufacturing plant, but the toymaker's nephew, Leslie, who is training to take over the business, must stop him. Leslie and his friends, including his sister and a group of self-aware toys, must confront the evil toys and save the factory.
