In the 1980s, a teenager named Lara moves with her father to a remote village in Hungary called Styria. There, she becomes fascinated by the history and gothic atmosphere of the place. As she explores the woods surrounding the village, Lara discovers dark secrets and a community with strange rituals. She befriends a mentally challenged person and begins to form a bond with her. However, her life takes a dark turn when she encounters a female vampire named Carmilla.
