A young playwright becomes obsessed with a photograph of a beautiful woman who lived in the early 1900s. Through self-hypnosis, he travels back in time to meet her, but their love is tragically cut short. With the help of a pocket watch and his determination, he finds a way to reunite with his beloved, even if it means sacrificing everything.

George and Betty, a middle-class English couple, have just moved into a big Edwardian house in London and are throwing a party to celebrate.
