Mickey and Minnie are next-door neighbors tending their yards. When Minnie is captured by a bird's song, Mickey hides in his bird-house and pretends to be a bird himself, until a cat attacks and blows his cover. Then he does a dance while wearing the house; their song attracts more birds, and again the cat. Pluto chases, but he's still pulling the lawnmower, and it causes much destruction.

Bosko, carrying his hobo stick, travels along the railroad tracks with his dog, Bruno. Unfortunately, they're both on the tracks as they cross a bridge and realize that a train is coming perilously near. They manage to escape via a handcar, which was waiting for them on the tracks. however, once over the bridge, Bruno gets his foot caught near the switch. Bruno escapes, but not before allowing his poor master to think he's dead. Bosko is angry at his pet, but outrage turns to fear when the sound of another train gets them both panicking again. Luckily, the "train whistle" is only the mooing of a cow. The pair's adventures continue as they try to steal a chicken for her eggs. Finally, they end up on a runaway boxcar and have a second encounter with the obnoxious cow.
Wile E. Coyote uses scrap metal from a dump to build a huge, mechanical likeness of himself, and uses this robot to chase the Road Runner. It ends up as just another pile of scrap.

Popeye is building a house while his nephews practice their music. The kids come out to help, but only cause trouble, so Popeye sends them back to practice. He finishes his house, goes in, and it collapses. The boys decide they can help Popeye and practice at the same time, so they build a skyscraper luxury apartment building to the tune of the ever-popular Poet and Peasant Overture.
Popeye's failures in the kitchen send him on a quest for a wife. He visits the "matrimonial agency" and picks Olive at the same time Bluto picks her. Of course, the boys settle their problem with their fists. Soon, Bluto and Olive are visiting Justice of the Peace Wimpy, with Popeye temporarily detained.
Popeye and Bluto fight over taking Olive out; she decides they'll all stay home together. While looking over a family album, Popeye tells the story of a day-long fight he and Bluto had as infants.
Olive is preparing a birthday party for Popeye. He arrives too soon, and she assigns his nephews (only three in this picture) to keep him out until she's ready. They do this in their usual creative ways.
