Buddy, raised as an oversized elf, goes from the North Pole to New York City to find his biological father, Walter Hobbs. Walter, who is unaware of Buddy's existence, is in desperate need of some Christmas spirit. Buddy's naive and innocent behavior leads to misadventures as he tries to navigate the city. Eventually, he finds his father, but getting him to believe in Christmas proves to be a challenge. With the help of his newfound family and a love interest, Buddy works to bring joy to the city and fulfill his role as an elf.
