In the Nazi concentration camps during World War II, a group of Jewish prisoners are selected to engage in a counterfeit operation. Their task is to produce fake money in order to finance the war effort for the Third Reich. As they struggle with their moral dilemmas and face the horrors of the Holocaust, they must decide whether to sabotage the operation or stay alive by collaborating with their captors.
Based on the childhood memories of actor Michael Degen, the movie deals with the everyday struggle to survive as a Jewish boy in Nazi Germany. As his father had died in 1940 after being released from the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, Michael and his mother fear to be deported themselves.
