Hey Good Lookin' is a dark and satirical animated comedy that takes place in 1950s New York City. It follows the lives of street gangs and explores themes of violence, racism, lust, and coming-of-age. The story revolves around the relationship between Vinnie, a member of a street gang, and Roz, a prostitute. Their lives are further complicated by the presence of a rival gang, police officers, and the challenges of growing up in a tumultuous and changing city. With its blend of comedy, drama, and surrealism, Hey Good Lookin' provides a unique exploration of life in the 1950s.

Under 30 minutes in length, this 1973 film shows Leary at his most engaging and personable. It’s a testament to his considerable charm that he was able to pull off such a performance, considering that the prison warden and other officials were sitting across the room listening as this was filmed. Leary discusses his jailbreak (intimating that the daughter of a United States senator he refuses to name helped him), the revolution in consciousness and drugs, Eldridge Cleaver and what it feels like to be an imprisoned philosopher.

The story involves a gifted young rock drummer named Bay who commits a grisly murder and becomes a fugitive from the law. Trained by a monk in a style of drumming called the Drums of the Gods, which treats drumming as a martial art for the forces of good, he must face his opposite drummer from the dark side.
