Stranded is a movie that takes place in San Francisco during the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge. The story revolves around a deceptive engineer and a charity worker who develop a romance amidst poverty and the challenges of bridge-building. Their lives are further complicated by accidental deaths, suicides, and extortion attempts.

It is the tale of a prominent lawyer who shocks his snooty friends, family and colleagues by abruptly abandoning his successful practice and his wife to find true happiness. He soon falls in love with another woman and continues to keep a low profile until he learns that his first wife stands accused of murdering him
