The action in the film takes place in the Far East, on an uninhabited island called Rikord in the Peter the Great Gulf of the Sea of Japan. The lead character, called Fatei after his father, and his family have their own marine farm where they harvest delicacies from the sea. In amazing images of the underwater world and land-scapes of the Primorsky (Maritime) Territory of the Russian Far East, the film Fatei and the Sea tells the story of a little man whose life is inseparable from the big world around him.

A giant woman wakes up on a pastel-coloured island where small yellow creatures harvest carrots. She seems too big for this world. Every step of her giant feet threatens to destroy a vegetable patch or hurt someone. Searching for a more suitable place to live she finally finds out where she belongs.

Mette was brutally attacked by a girl gang a few years previously. Since then, Mette has been in a wheelchair and her quality of life has rapidly changed. One day she meets Louise, who she thinks she recognize as the leader of the gang.

Absorbed in his thoughts, an artist is trapped behind his chaotic world.
