Amidst all the paste, ladders, brushes, and the images of circus and jungle animals on the wallpaper, is there any way this job gets done to the satisfaction of the sanitarium's director?

The stooges are working as paperhangers in the home of Professor Panzer, a mad scientist looking for a brain to use in his experiments. The professor wants to put a human brain into a gorilla but has trouble finding a brain small enough, which leads him to select Curly as the perfect donor.

Even the story is pretty much a retread of something out of a lesser Keystone from 1915. They eat paste. They make a general mess and they get involved with a mad anarchist named D.E. Stroy (get it?) who was to blow up everything -- his motive seems to be to produce more gags for the movie.
