During World War II, the survivors of a shipwreck find themselves on a lifeboat. As they struggle to stay alive, they must confront their own prejudices and fears. The group consists of a journalist, a steward, a radio operator, and others. Tensions arise as they debate their course of action and face the threat of a nearby U-boat. As dehydration, hunger, and desperation set in, they must find a way to survive.
