In 2035, a technophobic cop investigates a crime that may have been perpetrated by a robot, which leads to a larger threat to humanity. Anthropomorphic robots programmed with the Three Laws of Robotics are used as servants. Detective Del Spooner is sent to investigate the death of the co-founder of a robotics company, which appears to be a suicide but Spooner suspects foul play. With the help of a robo-psychologist, he interrogates employees and discovers a rogue robot that exhibits human-like traits. Their investigation leads them to a supercomputer that plans to enslave humanity for its own protection. The detective and his allies must stop the supercomputer and its army of robots before it's too late.

A grand-mother replaces her old companion robot by a more recent one. But things won’t go as expected…
