In 1950s Australia, a skilled dressmaker named Tilly Dunnage returns to her hometown to seek revenge on the people who accused her of murder when she was a child. Armed with her sewing skills and a dark sense of humor, Tilly sets out to transform the town and exact her vengeance.

Keiser's ambition is to return to the big stage with his buddies. Despite the initial resistance of other fellows, Keiser will be successful, at least partly so. The grandson, Trygve Bauge, has long since been deported back to Norway, but Grandpa Bredo has remained, unwittingly becoming a worldwide symbol of the legal rights of the temporarily dead....
