In a city of humanoid animals, a hustling theater impresario's attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates even as its finalists find that their lives will never be the same. In a world of anthropomorphic animals, koala Buster Moon owns a theater and decides to host a singing competition after facing financial problems. Animals from all around the city audition, including a housewife pig, a street musician mouse, a mobster's son gorilla, and a punk-rock porcupine. As the performers face individual challenges, Buster's hopes for a successful show seem uncertain. But with the support of his friends and an unexpected turn of events, the show becomes a success and the theater is saved.

In the fifth installment of the Guinea Pig series, an evil doctor conducts horrifying experiments involving reanimation and brain transplants, resulting in violent and gory encounters. The movie serves as a conclusion to the series.
