In twelfth-century England, Robin Longstride and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and lead an uprising against the crown that will forever alter the balance of world power. Robin impersonates Sir Robert Loxley to prevent the family lands from being taken by the crown and falls in love with Loxley's widow, Lady Marian. They join forces with the northern barons to demand the signing of a charter of liberties and eventually lead an English army to victory against a French invasion.
