In the small town of Port Byron, a group of mosquitoes becomes infected with toxic waste, resulting in them growing to massive sizes. The townspeople, including a sculptor named Skeeter, must find a way to stop the deadly creatures before they destroy everything in their path.

Johanna, husband Linus, teenager Tove and little Alfons head for a well-deserved holiday in a cottage in the middle of the forest. Despite promises, Johanna never gets a moment's peace from her family. On a trip to a nearby murder scene, Johanna is surrounded by a swarm of mosquitoes. At first the mosquitoes annoy her, but when she finally lets one bite her, she suddenly experiences a deep inner peace. Johanna discovers her more selfish side, and the more the mosquitoes bite, the greater her desire to break away from the family grows. This Hal Roach comedy short I found on the "American Slapstick" DVD collection of rare silent comedies starts bizarre and has an anything goes-quality one rarely sees in Mr. Roach's output. It stars Snub Pollard who is initially introduced as a baby left on a doorstep before we see him fully grown about 20 or so years later still in that basket! From there, he gets bumped car to car crossing the street prior to getting literally thrown through a window as an auction is taking place! Also appearing is James Finlayson as a man who's items accidentally get sold.
