Ralph Phillips dreams about his future, only to have his dreams interrupted by Willie N. List, using an ACME Anti-Nightmare Machine, to compare military and civilian life.
In 'Battle Scars,' a man begins with voice-over narration, working in a diner as a waitress. He gets into a fight and befriends a military draftee who convinces him to join the army. After the Vietnam War, he returns home with a loss of humanity and becomes involved in an armed robbery with gold bars from an art gallery.
