In the hip suburb of Verona, the Montague and Capulet families engage in a long-standing feud. When Romeo, a Montague, meets Juliet, a Capulet, at a ball, they fall in love and secretly marry with the help of Friar Laurence. However, their love is tested when Juliet is forced to marry another man, and the couple devises a plan to fake Juliet's death. Tragically, miscommunication leads to Romeo believing Juliet is dead, so he takes his own life. Upon waking to find Romeo dead, Juliet kills herself. The families reconcile and end their violent feud.
