In a post apocalyptic Australia, Max Rockatansky is exiled from Bartertown. He joins forces with a group of abandoned children to defy the town's leader and seek revenge. As they journey through the desert, Max discovers that he bears a striking resemblance to a man named Captain Walker, who was believed to lead the children to civilization. However, Max reveals that civilization is gone, and they must survive on their own. In the end, Max helps the children escape from Bartertown and finds a new settlement in the city of Sydney.
