Six Los Angeles celebrities are stuck in James Franco's house after a series of devastating events just destroyed the city. Inside, the group not only have to face the apocalypse, but themselves. Jay Baruchel visits his old friend Seth Rogen in Los Angeles, who invites him to a party at James Franco's house. During the party, strange beams of blue light suck several people into the sky. A sinkhole opens up, swallowing several partygoers. The group realizes that an earthquake has destroyed most of Los Angeles. As tensions rise and conflicts ensue, they must come together to survive. They encounter supernatural beings and face their own fears. Eventually, they discover that selflessness is the key to salvation. They make their way to Malibu, encountering cannibals on the way. James sacrifices himself and is eaten alive, while Seth and Jay encounter Satan. Jay ascends to Heaven, but refuses to leave Seth behind. They both make it to Heaven and are reunited with their friend Craig. In Heaven, they realize that any wish can come true, and Jay wishes for the Backstreet Boys to perform, bringing joy to everyone.
