In TRON: Legacy, the son of a virtual world designer searches for his missing father and finds himself transported into the digital world. He encounters his father's corrupted creation and befriends a unique ally who was born inside the digital world.

Programmer Kevin Flynn has been swindled by his former colleague Ed Dillinger who stole his ideas for popular arcade games. Flynn plans to crack the system at ENCOM Corporation to prove the stolen code is his. However, the powerful artificial intelligence called the Master Control Program captures and digitizes Flynn. In the digital world, Flynn teams up with the security program TRON to escape and defeat the MCP. They confront the MCP and expose Dillinger's deceit, leading to Flynn taking his place.
