A nonlinear exploration of a child's life filled with shadow and sorrow, as he waits and dreams. Through jump cuts and close-ups, the film presents an autobiographical self-portrait of emptiness and depression. The solo choral music and scenes of kids playing and a rocking chair add to the melancholic atmosphere.

These scenes are a one-minute, condensed version of the conclusion to my last work, Memories of an Angel. The scene of children was shot in the Phillipines recentely, including my daughter, Wind Baillie. The birds, near our home in Washington State. Chukotka is a place located on the edge of Siberia, where the cold winter lasts for ten months. It's a severe land, where only the strongest are able to survive. One of the oldest Siberian tribes lives there for centuries. Its traditions, culture and life in harmony with nature were brutally destroyed by the Soviet regime. Since the collapse of the USSR, they have been trying to survive, missing the wisdom of their ancestors and hope for the future. One of the last sources of life and tradition of Chukchi is whale hunting, but the fate of this old tradition is also threatened. For the Chukchi people, the whales give hope to survive the next winter. When the land of Lorino warms up from the sun, the hunting begins. It is a battle between two worlds, and each of them is on the edge of disappearing forever.

Children Adrift (1959) tells the story of a group of children living in a Parisian suburb, dealing with poverty and the hardships of their everyday lives. They navigate through the slums, playing and exploring the outskirts, while facing the challenges of family relationships and the plight of their circumstances. With used tires as their companions, they find solace and create their own world within the harsh reality they live in.
