In Bataan, a group of American soldiers, including African-American and multi-ethnic troops, fight against the Japanese forces occupying the Philippines during World War II. The film explores themes of heroism, camaraderie, and the human cost of war.

The war scenes come from Austria, Czech Republik, France, Belgium, Poland, Russia, England, Italy, and Germany. The courtroom trials serve as a parade in which each person is identified by name, and occasionally to his sentence of responsibility denial.
