In Tropical Malady, a soldier stationed in Thailand becomes infatuated with a local man and starts a forbidden romance. As their relationship deepens, the soldier finds himself plunged into a mystical world where he undergoes a transformation into an animal. The film explores themes of love, desire, and the blurring of boundaries between humans and animals. Set against the backdrop of the lush Thai jungle, Tropical Malady is a poetic and visually stunning exploration of forbidden love and mystical realms.

A middle-aged man is having problems trying to regain his sexual drive. He leaves behind his old life and tries to discover a simpler happiness through painting and meeting new friends.
