Following two Water Australia employees who travel out along the Nullarbor Plain only to discover they are being hunted by the mythological creature, the Nullarbor Nymph.
In 1988, Andrew Wight and his team went on to attempt a record cave dive in Pannikin Plains Cave on the Nullarbor Plain, where flash floods turned the expedition into a life-or-death adventure. This was captured on film by his support team, and eventually published as Nullarbor Dreaming. This short film launched his career as an international film-maker and culminated in him becoming James Cameron's right-hand man on many 3D and other film projects. Sanctum was inspired by his Nullarbor experience
Caged in Fear is the story of four abalone divers who set out to test a new underwater motorised cage designed to make abalone harvesting easier but, most importantly, to protect them from shark aftack. They attract a pack of the monsters to their expedition boat and in the cold and lonely waters of the Great Australian Bight dare to confront them in their own environment. The film builds inexorably to a breath-taking climax when cage and man are attacked and spectacularly defeated. "Caged in Fear" is like no other shark documentary. It is dramatic, true, compelling and horrifying. "Caged in Fear" is not endless shots of sharks swimming past well protected cameramen in cages. It is a strong story, full of action, with a gut wrenching and heart thumping climax which must be seen.
