After being coerced into working for a crime boss, a young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail. When Baby was a child, a car accident killed his parents and left him with tinnitus. As a teen, he tried to steal a car owned by criminal mastermind Doc and was coerced into working for him. Between jobs, he cares for his deaf foster father Joseph. Baby meets waitress Debora and they start dating. Baby's supposedly final job goes awry, and he quits his life of crime. However, Doc forces him to join another heist crew, threatening to hurt Debora. Baby reluctantly agrees. The next heist targets money orders from a post office. Bats' reckless actions and suspicions strain the crew. During the heist, Bats kills a guard, and Baby refuses to drive. Baby impales and kills Bats, causing the police to chase the surviving crew members. Darling is killed, and Buddy vows to kill Baby for her death. Baby steals another car and flees to evacuate Joseph. Baby leaves his earnings from the heists on the porch of a senior care home for Joseph. Baby picks up Debora, but Buddy ambushes them, resulting in Doc's death. In a parking garage, Buddy corners Baby and temporarily deafens him. Debora disarms Buddy, and Baby shoots him. Baby and Debora flee Atlanta, but Baby surrenders at a police roadblock to protect her. Baby is sentenced to prison but receives postcards from Debora and is released, finding her waiting for him.

Frank Martin is a former Special Forces officer living on the French Mediterranean coastline.
