Congressman David Norris loses his lead in the United States Senate race after meeting a woman who encourages him to be more honest. He is later introduced to the Adjustment Bureau, a group that has a plan for his life. David and the woman, Elise, reconnect three years later, but the Bureau tries to stop their relationship. David fights against the Bureau's control and risks his future to be with Elise.

When Beans tries to warm up by throwing some chairs in a stove and lighting it, he thaws out a pair of pirates that chase the trio around. They treasure-seekers are eventually forced back into their plane and they decide to fly away.
