In a medieval village haunted by a werewolf, a girl named Valerie falls in love with a woodcutter named Peter, much to her family's displeasure. As the town prepares for a monthly sacrifice to the werewolf, Valerie's sister is killed. The hunt for the werewolf ensues, revealing family secrets and a connection between Valerie and the wolf. In the end, Valerie must confront her own father, who is the werewolf, and save her love, Peter, from his curse.
