Honeyland follows the life of Hatidze, a beekeeper in a small rural village in North Macedonia. She lives a simple and sustainable life, caring for her bees and selling honey at a local street market. However, her peaceful existence is disrupted when a new neighbor moves in and starts exploiting the natural resources of the area, leading to a clash between tradition and greed.
In a small conservative town in Kosovo, a strong woman tries to establish her business as a female beekeeper. She faces obstacles such as a rape attempt, but finds solidarity with other women in the village. The movie portrays themes of female empowerment, mother-daughter relationships, and the resilience of women in a patriarchal society.
