In the year 2000, a 40-year-old image consultant named Russ Duritz discovers a chubby, lisping 8-year-old boy named Rusty. Rusty is his self as a child, who is not happy that at his current age, he is on the verge of marrying his girlfriend. With his past and present selves existing at the same time, Duritz faces a crisis of conscience and learns lessons about self-improvement and redemption.
