Jaime, a 13-year-old boy living in poverty, navigates the challenges of life as he works on a construction site, faces exploitation, and struggles with the loss of innocence.
In That Gang of Mine, a group of boys from the lower east side of Manhattan join a boys' club and become friends. They find themselves in a horse racing competition and must train and prepare to win. Along the way, they encounter gangsters, gamblers, and even a fire that threatens their chances. Through heroism and teamwork, they overcome their fears and strive for victory.
Kirsti works as a reception assistant to Dr. Varjo and is secretly clinging to the doctor's son, Eino, who is studying to become an architect. Even though the film reflects early social problems and class jokes, there is no humor about describing everyday life.
