An aging thief named Nick Wells decides to retire from his illegal activities and focus on running his jazz club. However, he is lured into one last heist by his fence Max. The job involves stealing a valuable French scepter being smuggled into the United States. Nick recruits an ambitious thief named Jack Teller, who has infiltrated the Customs House. They face complications, including a systems administrator extorting money and increased security measures. During the heist, Jack double crosses Nick, but Nick outsmarts him and escapes with the real scepter. Jack becomes the prime suspect in the heist.
