In 1979, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking more than 50 hostages. Six Americans manage to escape and hide in the Canadian ambassador's residence. A CIA agent comes up with a plan to rescue them by pretending to be a Hollywood producer scouting for a sci-fi film.
