In this short comedy film, a liquor dealer faces various mishaps in his store, including slipping and falling, and falling through the floor. The film is filled with slapstick comedy and humorous scenes involving foam, a banana, a pineapple, and a grape. The main character wears a tuxedo and interacts with objects such as a thermometer, an erlenmeyer flask, and a circular saw. The Three Stooges make an appearance in this prohibition-era comedy, which revolves around the theme of scotch and a Scotsman wearing a kilt.
Hyman Goldberger, the president of film studio Super-Colossal Pictures, is in trouble--his major backer is threatening to stop financing his pictures. He finds a group of six wealthy individuals who may want to become investors in the studio if his disgruntled backer pulls out. Unfortunately, his bumbling runner Albert picks that day to invite six of his street musician friends to be in the film that is currently shooting at the studio, and Hyman mistakes them for the potential investors. Complications ensue.
Stan plays a waiter at a crappy restaurant and frankly such fare was better done by Chaplin and others. However, in two cute scenes, the film shines. The first is a Limburger cheese bit that is low-brow but funny. The second is the final scene with dogs following Stan at the end.
Rather than go to church, Spanky decides to go fishing - with disastrous results.
