After being assigned to save a struggling vineyard, a marketing expert returns to her hometown just in time for Christmas. As she works on a marketing campaign and reconnects with old friends, she must navigate the challenges of the holiday season and find a way to save the vineyard before it's too late.

The Great Northwest is a documentary film based on the re-creation of a 3,200 mile road-trip made in 1958 by four Seattle women who thoroughly documented their journey in an elaborate scrapbook. Fifty years later, Portland artist Matt McCormick found that scrapbook in a thrift store, and in 2010 set out on the road, following their route as precisely as possible and searching out every stop in which the ladies had documented. Patiently shot with an observational, cinema-vérité approach, The Great Northwest is a lyrical time- capsule that explores how the landscape, architecture, and culture of the Pacific Northwest has changed over the past fifty years.

This Traveltalk series short begins in the Wenatchee River valley, where apples are the chief commercial crop. In Spokane, we see the Sunken Gardens (later called the John W. Duncan Gardens) in Manito Park. In Olympia, the campus of the state capitol is surrounded by flowers. At Long Beach is the beginning of a sand roadbed that stretches for 27 miles. After a glimpse of canoeing on the Quinault River, we get a view of the San Juan Islands. Finally, we are shown some sights on the Columbia River, including the Rock Island Dam and the not-yet-finished Grand Coulee Dam, largest concrete structure in the United States.

Set along the rivers of Oregon and the Columbia Gorge. We meet Lauren Regan, a criminal defense attorney using this same strategy to defend her clients, including social worker and Umatilla tribal elder, Cathy Sampson-Kruse, arrested for blocking a megaload carrying toxic materials.

Phyllis Wilson (Laura Lee) returns to the lumber camp owned by her father, Henry Wilson (Sam Flint)), and finds him in a struggle to keep his holdings. Wilson's foreman, McCabe (George Slocum), is employed by Wilson's enemy to destroy his company. Jim Caldwell (David Bruce), an engineer, is hired by Wilson and falls in love with Phyllis. McCabe kills Wilson and Sheriff Williams (Lee Phelps) thinks Caldwell is the killer.
