A young boy named Ted lives in a small rural town with his father. Ted appears to be a normal child, but he harbors dark sociopathic tendencies. When his father is killed in a car accident, Ted's behavior takes a dark turn as he begins a murder spree, targeting both animals and humans. The townspeople are in a state of fear as they try to uncover the truth behind the killings and stop Ted before he strikes again.
An engineer moves into a bungalow on the beach next to a widow and her two boys. The older boy has a bit of an Oedipal complex and seems to like his mom. Of course, that means that no other man can come and break up their "happy" family.
"El Pollo," a 13-year-old child in reform school, witnesses and experiences the brutalization of the guards and the other inmates.
Ian Tracey plays 11-year-old Peter, who is plagued by demons and sent to an institution for setting fires. Peter escapes and hops a freight train headed into northern B.C. He is befriended by a native shaman or "dreamspeaker" (George Clutesi). The shaman makes some strides but is unable to get to the root of Peter's problems. Peter is captured by the police and taken back to the institution where he slides down even further.
