Jean Grey, a mutant with telekinetic powers, accidentally causes a car accident that kills her parents and leaves her as the sole survivor. Years later, her powers become uncontrollable and she inadvertently injures her fellow mutants. It is revealed that her father is alive and he resents her for causing her mother's death. Jean's powers continue to amplify and she seeks help from Magneto to control them. However, a shape-shifting alien race also targets Jean to harness her powers. The X-Men, including Professor X and Cyclops, join forces to save Jean and stop the alien threat. In the end, Jean sacrifices herself to protect her loved ones and the X-Men carry on her legacy.
