Mahoney, one of the cadets, tries to get himself thrown out but decides to stay when he falls in love. He befriends other cadets and they face bullying from their superiors. Eventually, they are forced into real action during a riot, where they prove their worth and rescue their instructor from a hostage situation. In the end, they graduate with honors.
