During World War II, journalist Ernie Pyle joins the US Army as a war correspondent. He witnesses and reports the struggles and sacrifices of the infantry soldiers in Northern Africa and Italy, forming deep bonds with them. Pyle's experiences and the impact of war on his mental health are showcased, along with his relationships and the challenges faced by soldiers and their families.
