As the ice age comes to an end, Manny, Sid, and Diego join a group of animals on a journey to higher ground to escape the impending flood. Along the way, Manny discovers that he is not the last woolly mammoth and develops a connection with Ellie, a female mammoth. They face various obstacles, including a tribe of mini-sloths and two sea reptiles from the Mesozoic era. Eventually, they all come together to survive the flood and Manny and Ellie decide to stay together as a herd.
